After a finishing a finance meeting with Fr. Francis Li, our post-meeting discussion led to an important topic - What is it that we love about our jobs?
This was a great discussion because let’s face it, we all spend a good amount of our waking hours working. Since that is the case, shouldn't we focus on what we enjoy doing for a living?
For him, it is participating in the joy of a newly-wed couple, the enjoyment of a parents celebrating a new baby or to consult individuals who need help. It is also helping a family heal after the loss of a loved one.
For me, it is helping individuals succeed in reaching their dreams of owning a successful staffing business. Let's face it - it takes a lot of guts and courage to own a business. Luckily, in the past 30 years I have been a part of many, many success stories. Helping entrepreneurs that have the courage and can-do attitude to grow their small business into a local, regional and sometimes national powerhouse is incredibly satisfying.
For many staffers, at its core its the satisfaction of matching the right talent with the right company. Both the individual and customer wins. And sometimes, a recruiter can change a person’s life because they were able to find a role that allowed him or her to really achieve success.
So, what is it that you like about your job?
